Spotlight On: Camping La Clape, Cap d'Agde

Great Location and Reduced Tarifs for June 2021

The campsite is on a natural part of the beach and 5 mins walk to the lively beach resort.

There are a few campsites dotted along this coast, but I thought the price was excellent for a 4 star campsite. We paid 81.24 € for a week in May (dog and taxes included). Ok the normal price would be 126€ but this 42% off sale continues until end of June (the last week of June it rises to 92 €). If you are in France and looking for a cheap week on the beach, we recommend it here.

The campsite is straightforward but has everything you need; heated pool, onsite shop, bar and restaurant. The pitches are flat and vary in size. There is electricity on the pitch but no water - and the taps are quite well spaced out so bear that in mind when choosing where to go. Also I would've stocked up on basics before we arrived as the onsite shop was a bit expensive.

I'm not going to go into too much detail as there's nothing wrong with it, but also nothing exceptional. In fact when we weren't working, we were off site. The main focus of this place, to me, is it's location. Situated on the Plage Le Mole, you have the Mediterranean on your door step:

There is a boardwalk that runs the length of the coast so once you have arrived no need to drive again.

You have a very large selection of places to eat but we can't recommend the restaurant Le Pêcheur enough. Real quality fresh fish, cooked by French Mamies.

20 € a head for 3 courses and wine included, it is a very good experience.

But it wouldn't be fair not to mention the things we didn't like. When you venture away from Plage Le Mole, and into the main Cap d'Agde, things get a bit touristy and neon. Each to their own though, it is certainly a popular destination.
